Each goal record includes: goal number, date (month/day/year), opponent team, goalie, primary assist, secondary assist, league, period, home/away, jersey worn, day of week, season, and special tags (GWG, PPG, SHG, overtime, empty net, hat trick, milestone, etc.).

## Goal Numbering

NHL regular season goals are numbered 1–929. Non-NHL goals are interleaved as decimals: the integer part is the NHL goal number they fall between, and the decimal encodes the competition sequence. For example: 0.01 is World Championship Goal #1 (2004), 36.04 is Olympic Goal #4 (2006), 897.75 is Playoff Goal #75.
